Fafleralp is one of the smaller communities in the Lötchental Valley. The beautiful Lötchental is one of Switzerland's most beautiful valleys. The valley is known as Das Tal der Täler, the Valley of Valleys. You'll stay at the lovely Fafleralp Hideaway Resort. The hotel's philosophy is that the key to tranquility lies in simplicity and, above all, closeness to nature. The resort is situated at an altitude of almost 1,800 meters and is nestled in a larch forest. Beautiful hikes to the glacier or a morning swim in a cold lake before breakfast can be part of a week at Fafleralp.

“Silently exploring an ancient forest, swimming every morning in a cold glacial lake, feeling the sun on my face at sunrise, and walking barefoot in the grass; these were the experiences during the "Spirit of the Wild" course that gave me new insights. I realized how crucial it is to experience the changing climate in nature. It's not surprising to see climate change as merely a mathematical challenge, if you don't see, and experience, that nature is deteriorating rapidly.

Only when you feel connected to something can you commit to it. Without this connection, I myself wouldn't have the determination and passion needed to continue working for the Rights of Nature.”

About Fafleralp

Jessica den Outer, Director of Rights of Nature

The Spirit of the Wild program allows us to connect with and learn from nature through profound personal experiences. It is the key to transforming our thoughts, actions, and approach to an inclusive way of living, in communion with all life. This fosters personal inner transformation and a commitment to a sustainable future.

The Spirit of the Wild program aims to bring us closer to nature and, in turn, to our own inner nature. We do this by awakening all our senses and intuition, through silence and guided meditation. The program is an invitation to slow down and listen to nature. Without rules or fixed goals, you are invited to experience and communicate with the world of rocks and plants, the fungi and mycelium that connect all life, and the world of animals. This leads to reflection on your own role as a human being in the great interplay of life. During the program, there is ample time to explore nature on your own, in your own way and at your own pace.
